5 Marvel Cinematic Universe Roles for John Krasinksi
According to Scientific Fact Magazine, I’m about to drop a hot, steamy rumor load onto your face: John Krasinski (Some Good News, former Late Night with Conan O’Brien intern) is rumored to be talking with Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President about a possible role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But what potential 5 roles in the MCU could Krasinski play? There’s so many Marvel characters to choose from, how is it possible for one website to ever narrow down a role? Well, after a lot of blood (keyboard too sharp), sweat (I’m obese), and tears (keyboard too sharp), your friends at Cinema Listed are gonna take you for a ride:
1. Jim Halpert
John Krasinski played Jim Halpert on The Office (U.S.). Jim has no known superpowers except making this kind of shruggy face to the camera.
But, Chris Pratt (Star-Lord/Peter Quill) played Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation (also U.S.).
Ipso facto, Jim Halpert could meet Andy Dwyer in a Marvel movie.
Kevin Feige, I don’t ask for much from you, but please let me have this so I can imagine a world where the characters of The Office exist with the characters of Parks & Rec.
Except for Mark.
2. Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic
You know what would be fantastic (PUN INTENDED)? The Office and Parks & Rec coexisting in the same universe. Michael Scott could finally meet Leslie Knope! And they could fight some super-villain together or organize some party for other superheroes. I’m sure they could hold their own in a fight against space lizards or soldiers.
3. An antihero version of Victor Von Doom/Dr. Doom
…I just realized that Dwight Schrute would exist in the MCU if John Krasinski played Jim in the MCU. This means Dwight could meet Ron Swanson. This meeting of the minds between two eccentric characters with superiority complexes would fill the gap left by Tony Stark. Also they could eat meet and beets together.
4. Adam Warlock who was teased at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
…do you think Scranton or Pawnee would be the best place for these characters to meet? J.J.’s Diner for some waffles? Chili’s?? Or maybe they would meet in space or at the new Asgard. Does the new Asgard have waffles!?
5. A better-respected Cyclops, kind of like the one in the awesome 90’s X-Men cartoon
…you know what else is awesome? The thought that Karen Fillipelli (played by Rashida Jones) could meet Ann Perkins (also played by Rashida Jones). Both characters would be like “what are we doing here?” and would probably just sit back and hang out and maybe punch some aliens or monsters or Loki.
P.S. Karen was always better than Pam Beesly.
