The Best 5 DC Extended Universe Movies

The DC Extended Universe is getting a kick in the pants with news of the much-requested Zack Snyder Justice League cut being released in 2021 on HBO Max.

Now, I’ll admit the DCEU movies don’t quite stack up to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there’s no need to totally disregard the DCEU (or as I like to call it, the ‘Deuce’). Sure, these movies have some corny moments, but there’s a lot of solid material and good, chunky nuggets to look back on.

So let’s take a look at the best five DCEU movies (so far), listed from the justicey to the justiciest.

Note: this list doesn’t include DC movies like Swamp Thing or The Return of Swamp Thing – this list only features the recent DC Extended Universe movies.

Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice

This movie gets a lot of hate, but there were good parts to it. I liked the opening scene where Bruce Wayne (P.S. HE’S BATMAN) is traveling to Metropolis and witnesses Superman fighting General Zod (from Man of Steel) and destroying the city. Bruce (HE’S BATMAN) is hopelessly driving a Jeep Renegade through the city as it’s being destroyed, trying to get to his company and save people. He’s driving a Jeep Renegade! At those speeds?? Around those twists and turns?? Truly a madman.

Justice League

I mean, do you think Bruce has ever seen a Jeep before let alone driven one? With all the money in his life, he’s probably only driven AMG’s, BMW’s, Jaguars, Bentleys, or other top-of-the-line cars. In the heat of the moment, he grabbed what he could, but do you think internally he had no idea what this vehicle was? And how did he know exactly how to drive it? When I drive a new car for the first time, it usually takes me a hour or two just to turn on the radio.

Aquaman

Additionally, why didn’t he bring his Batmobile? After driving around in that Jeep, do you think he developed a remote that could call in his Batmobile or any other Bat-vehicle so he would never have to drive a Jeep Renegade again?

Wonder Woman

Also, do you think he returned the Jeep Renegade after he drove it around the city? It would have been a huge dick move to just leave that guy’s Jeep in the middle of the destroyed city without letting him know. I mean, that’s technically carjacking/stealing and the guy could press charges against Bruce.

Maybe he drove that little girl away from the rubble in the Jeep Renegade. Just imagine that conversation from Bruce: “hey sorry your mom was melted in the building but how about I drive you home or to the orphanage in this sweet 2016 Jeep Renegade ‘Dawn of Justice’ Special Edition. It has cupholders!”

So there you have it folks! The best five DC Extended Universe movies (so far). Maybe the Snyder cut will feature more scenes of Batman doing sweet jumps with the other Justice Leaguers in a Jeep Renegade through Themyscira or Atlantis.
